Winter Trail Camp

Join Team Summit for a weekend of trail-running and fun. This year we're taking our talents to Bryson City, NC to run in the Smokies!

January 24-27 (Friday -Monday)

LOCATION
Bryson City, NC!
-Located in the foothills of the Smokies and a short drive from Nantahala National Forest, there is no shortage of exploring to be done. This small mountain town has plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries to keep us entertained when we're not on the trails!
-Local trail systems to explore: Newfound Gap (Appalachian Trail), Mt. Leconte, Deep Creek, Noland Creek, NOC to Wesser Bald (Fire Tower Views!).

ACTIVITIES
-This is a running camp, expect lots of running and lot’s of recovering!

-We'll have varied route options suitable for most abilities.

-Guided warmups and recovery sessions. The goal is for runners to learn the benefits of training camps and the concentration of load over 3 days with an emphasis on recovery.

-We’ll have demo sets of HOKA trail shoes for you to try!

-We will discuss training methods and protocols for cold weather mountain running, as well as nutrition/hydration and gear/equipment strategies.

-Expect other non-running outdoor activities (did someone say ice skating?)

-Lot's of relaxing! The property features a hot tub and plenty of room to spread out and stretch.

-We'll visit a few coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants and mingle with the locals!

PRELIMINARY ITINERARY (say that three times fast)
-Friday - Depart from ATL area around noon (shuttle van provided!) *you may choose to drive separately if desired

-Friday Evening - Settle in, explore downtown Bryson City

-Saturday Morning - Yoga, breakfast, trail run!!

-Saturday Evening - Recover/relax, eat!! Evening Activities, Dinner in town.

-Sunday Morning - Yoga, breakfast, trail run!!

-Sunday Evening - Recover/relax, eat!! Evening Activities, Dinner in town.

-Monday Morning - Short recovery run. Depart for home.

OTHER NOTES
-We'll have a shuttle van for transportation but you may choose to transport yourself. The drive is approximately 2:45 from ATL.

-Limited to 15 spots!

-Everyone will be staying at the same property in an extra-large cabin with many bedrooms. Some rooms have bunks/twin beds and require guests to share rooms. If you're attending with a significant other we will pair you in your own room, first come first serve.

-It will be COLD outside, please bring appropriate gear!

COST

No cost to attend, only for accommodations!
-To stay in the host cabin will be $250 total.

-Covers accommodations for three nights, shuttle van, snacks, Summit swag!

-There is no official registration page for this, trying to save us all the fees! We will coordinate payment later.
